Business software for contractors and builders
Contracting jobs are long, with many purchases and several invoices. BusinessPilotOS ties each quote, task, cost and invoice to the job, so you know where a project stands and whether it is making money before it ends.
Jobs that run for weeks
Break a project into tasks, assign people and track time, so progress is visible to you and the team.
Costs scattered across suppliers
Record each expense with its supplier and link it to the job, and see the running cost next to what you have invoiced.
Part payments on big invoices
Record each payment against the invoice as it arrives, and see the balance still owed and whether it has become overdue.
How a job flows through it
- 1Quote the project in line items
- 2Create the job from the accepted quote, then add a project and tasks
- 3Create tasks, assign crews and log time
- 4Link material and subcontractor costs to the job
- 5Invoice the job, record payments as they arrive and review profit
Who it suits
Small building, fit-out and renovation firms who quote per project and want cost and cash visibility without an enterprise system.
What to know before you start
Tendering, drawings, detailed stock control and subcontractor payroll are outside the product, and a job links to a single invoice. Approvals for time and expenses are informational today and not enforced by a workflow builder.
Frequently asked questions
Can I invoice a job in stages?
A job links to one invoice, and you can record part payments against it. You can also create separate standalone invoices for stages, but only the linked invoice counts towards that job's profit.
Can I see profit before the job ends?
Profit needs the job to be invoiced. Once it is, profit is the invoiced subtotal minus the costs linked to the job, and the product says when it is not available.
Does it handle subcontractors?
You can record their costs against the job. Payroll and compliance checks are not included.
